Phillies

Ben Gribbon and Keith Lynch took in a Phillies game on Sunday. I enjoyed the game more than usual since Phila. won 6-1. As ESPN summarized: "Jamie Moyer took a no-hitter into the seventh inning and Jayson Werth came up with some clutch plays in the field and at the plate to give the Phillies their seventh win in nine games. "

For some reason they acted out and played the Steve Martin "King Tut" video to celebrate the Philly Phanatic's birthday... but yes, Keith, the sax player *IS* Blue Lou from the Blues Brothers! See: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKg8VkM-Hf8

The Tempest

On Saturday April 14th, we saw Jai Goodman as Stephano in The Tempest at the Meyerhoff Arts Center, Goucher College, with Carolyn and Lissy. I thought the performances of Stephano and Ferdinand we excellent, inspired! Prospero, Ariel, and Miranda were also very good, as was the staging/scenery/props. I thought the others were just good, but the absense of a few scenes wouldn't be missed. Still, I liked it at least as much as the Tempest at the Shakespeare Theater in DC last year. Also enjoyed Norrie Epstein's background on the play (not included in the program), which notes this as one of Shakespear's later plays, maturly resolving comedy and tragedy, and fitting the play into exactly 3 hours between 3 and 6 pm. For more insformation see: http://blogs.goucher.edu/tempest

We also met Alex, a clever young man of Jai's from Johns Hopkins. Liked him.

Saw the Jenkins briefly; Hannah has super new pajamas.

Ben & Carolyn Married at Easter

Carolyn Dunn and Ben Gribbon were married on Easter Day, April 8, 2007 at Old Trinity Church in Church Creek, Maryland. The brief ceremony following Easter service was officiated by my father Rev. Robert T. Gribbon, D.Min., and attended only by immediately family. The vows were followed by some picture taking and afternoon Tea at the Rectory. Ben and Carolyn retired to the Inn at Perry Cabin in St. Michael's, MD and returned home on Monday. We will continue our celebration with a June cruise to Alaska and a summer party where we will look forward to sharing our joy with everyone in person. Click here for more pictures.
